Sport is an important part of life at Robert Gordon's College. As well as curricular sport, our pupils have the choice of a variety of extra curricular clubs including netball, karate, gymnastics, basketball, cricket, tennis, football and ski race training.

From Primary 6, pupils can participate in hockey or rugby at Countesswells on a Saturday morning during the winter months. These are beneficial for developing tactical awareness skills and team work. They are also an opportunity to develop social skills, improve fitness and have fun.  We have a comprehensive Saturday morning rugby and hockey fixture list.

Our pupils participate in a wide variety of athletics events and use the Sports Village in Aberdeen for field and track events. Pupils compete in a variety of Cross Country races including the Grampian Championships and the Scottish Schools Championships.

Our annual Sports day at Countesswells is always a highlight of the school calendar with all children from Primary 1 – 7 actively involved.

The pupils have the opportunity in participating in the Junior School Swimming Gala which is held annually. Several pupils have gone on to have success at the Scottish School Swimming Championships.
