Head's Welcome

Sarah WebbWelcome to Robert Gordon’s Junior School.  We believe that learning should be enjoyable and school should be fun, as happy motivated children are more likely to be successful and achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.

Here at Gordon’s we offer traditional values combined with high quality teaching in our state-of-the-art school.  We encourage independence, innovation and curiosity right from the start and encourage children to make decisions for themselves.  Our aim is to equip children for the ever changing world with resilience to cope with challenges they may meet on their journey.

Across the Junior School class sizes are no larger than 22 in P1 and by P7 our maximum class size is 24.  Children are principally taught in their own classroom by our highly trained class teachers supported by a range of specialist subject teachers (Art, Drama, French, ICT, Music, PE, and Science).

All pupils are supported to develop their individual strengths. We have a very broad and action packed curriculum with lots of music, sport, drama and a huge range of extra curricular activities for our children to choose from.  Across the Junior School there are many local and regional trips to allow children to extend and see the relevance of their learning beyond the classroom.

Through being part of the Gordon’s community we believe that your child will feel happy and secure and grow in self-confidence.

There is no greater way to hear about the experience of a Gordon’s education than by talking to our pupils and staff. Come along to one of our open events or arrange a tour.
