Junior

Welcome to Robert Gordon's College Junior School. We believe that learning should be enjoyable and school should be fun, as happy motivated children are more likely to be successful and achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.

Your child will receive high quality learning and teaching in our state-of-the-art school.  We encourage independence, innovation and curiosity right from the start and encourage all children to make decisions for themselves.  Our aim is to equip your child for the ever changing world with resilience to cope with challenges they may meet on their journey.

Our Junior School is a fantastic place to bring the best out of your child. The high quality teaching and broad, action packed curriculum will enable your child to reach their potential academically, socially and emotionally. The opportunities available from Primary 1 through to Primary 7 are phenomenal whether it be clubs, trips, competitions or our range of specialist subjects.

All our pupils are supported to develop their individual strengths by warm, approachable and dynamic staff. We have a very broad and action packed curriculum with lots of music, sport, drama and a huge range of co-curricular activities for our children to choose from.  Across the Junior School there are many local and regional trips to allow our children to extend and see the relevance of their learning beyond the classroom.

Through being part of the Gordon’s community we believe that your child will feel happy and secure and grow in self-confidence. There is no greater way to hear about the experience of a Gordon’s education than by talking to our pupils and staff. Come along to one of our open events or arrange a tour.

“I like all of my subjects. My favourite is swimming and I like going to Countesswells. I love playing with my friends at lunchtime and going to clubs. At Loose Parts club I use my imagination to build new things every week."

George (P1)

“RGC is special because you are all encouraged to be the best that you can be, no matter what you are good at. Whether you like writing, music, drama, spelling, swimming or PE there is always something for everyone."

Andrew (P4)

“The best part of Junior School has been all the nice teachers. I felt I could trust them.”

Jenny (P7)

“It’s a real collaborative relationship between the school and parents. That’s the way education should be embraced.”
