S6 Charity Auction
Posted: Tuesday 12 June 2018
S6 pupils are currently preparing for one of the largest events of the S6 calendar - the annual S6 Charity Auction. Taking place on Thursday 14th June in The Craig Centre for Performing Arts, all of the funds will be donated equally between Friends of Anchor and Lymphoma Action; two charities which are close to the Gordon’s community.
Friends of Anchor offer patient wellbeing services in the North East to those undergoing treatment for cancer. Based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Friends of Anchor offer a variety of services including providing toiletries, clothing and other comforts to patients. Alongside providing these services, Friends of Anchor also invest in medical equipment and research.
Lymphoma Action are the only charity in the UK who are solely dedicated to improving the care of patients and their families who are battling Lymphoma, the fifth most common form of cancer. Lymphoma Action provide expert advice and support to those battling Lymphoma, as well as connecting those fighting the disease with each other.
These charities completely rely on charitable donations and the work of volunteers, so all of the proceeds will make a real and measurable difference to cancer care in the North East.
Various items will be up for grabs on the day, both in person, and online. Auction times are as follows:
Live auction at The Craig Centre for Performing Arts on Thursday 14th June (9.25am - 2.50pm) for pupils and families. Excluding morning and lunch break.
