Archives Walking Tour 2025

With 2025 marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, Gordonians and friends are invited to join the Archivists for a walking tour of Allenvale Cemetery, where there are 273 identified burials of Commonwealth war casualties. The tour will cover the war graves of, or memorials to, many of the 11 Gordonian casualties from WW1, 7 from WW2 and also the screen wall memorial to Commonwealth casualties buried in Allenvale whose names are not recorded on headstones. Information on each Gordonian casualty will be given at the grave.

The walk will also include the graves of James Scott Skinner, JJR Macleod and Sir Alexander MacRobert. We shall meet at 2.00pm on Tuesday 4th November at the Lodge House and cemetery entrance on Allenvale Road, where there is unrestricted parking.

Please note that numbers participating will be restricted to 10. If there is sufficient interest, a similar walk round the war graves of the Gordonian casualties in Springbank Cemetery may follow.

There is no cost for this tour however we kindly ask you to book your space so we can gauge numbers.
