Meals are cooked on-site by our caterers, Inspire Catering, and served in Blackfriars Dining Hall. A cashless system operates where cards are provided for every pupil and parents/guardians top up accounts and view transaction history via an online portal. Children may bring packed lunches to school and pupils can sit with their friends to eat these in the Dining Hall.
We are proud to cater to our international community and are able to offer vegetarian and Halal options as well as support specific dietary requirements/allergies.
Following the launch of this catering service in August 2015, Inspire Catering has continued to achieve the HealthyLiving Award. The Award follows a rigorous audit process reviewing the menus and food production methods and means that your child will always be able to make healthy food choices at school. Our food offer also meets the Scottish Government’s Better Eating, Better Learning initiative and the School Nutritional Guidelines.
We are fully committed to helping pupils make healthier eating choices by making fruit and vegetables clearly available and keeping the amount of fat, salt and sugar we use to a minimum
The Dining Hall is open for Morning Cafe from 7.50 am - 8.20 am, during Senior School Break, and Nursery, Junior School and Senior School lunches.
Based in the heart of the city, Robert Gordon’s College educates over 1570 pupils from 3 to 18 years of age daily at our Schoolhill site. Pupil safety and wellbeing is central to welcoming pupils onsite each day and families with children attending the College have a number of travel options available.
Dedicated parking spaces for Nursery families are available at Schoolhill to help with daily drop off and pick up arrangements, and are limited to the beginning and end of the day. Nursery children must be signed in and out of the Nursery on a daily basis and are therefore not able to use the school buses.
School buses operate from a number of locations within the City and Shire. Each of our school buses has a member of staff or representative from First Group to accompany the children to and from school. These representatives are a friendly face and ensure the agreed drop off and pick up arrangements are in place between families and the school. Many children enjoy the daily commute with their friends which allows parents the comfort that their child is safe and well looked after.

Senior Pupils Sport Afternoon
Senior pupils are transported to Countesswells at 1.45pm on their sport day and make their own way home. Buses are provided for teams travelling to Countesswells after school for training.
The campus is well served by public transport and is a short walk from Aberdeen bus and train stations. Local service bus routes are also closely situated to the campus.

Park and Ride

Their automatic registration recognition system reads your car registration on arrival and the barrier will lift. When you drive to the exit, if it is within 30 minutes, the barrier will lift to enable you to leave and there is no cost. If it is longer than 30 minutes it is possible to pay at the exit barrier via contactless.
Drop Off Zones
Aberdeen City Council have identified drop off zones for those families travelling to school by car. This information has been provided by Aberdeen City Council in accordance with the City Masterplan for the Schoolhill area. We would encourage families to use the drop off zones and accessible parking options around the campus to reduce congestion at the Schoolhill entrance.
Working with partner agencies across the city, our aim is to realise the goal of making Aberdeen an even better place to live, work and visit. The Robert Gordon's College Travel Plan outlines measures to reduce the College’s traffic impact and promote sustainable and healthier forms of transport. We encourage our school community to travel safely at all times, respect the local traffic requirements and consider the travel options that work best for your family. Inside the school gates controlled access is in operation to ensure there is a safe environment for pupils to play and move around the campus.
