Runo E (S3) has set himself the ultimate challenge of running 100k and cycling 100miles throughout Spring to raise money for local charity AberNecessities.
Starting his fundraising efforts next week, Runo will be clocking up the distance in a bid to raise £3,000 for the local charity which supports disadvantaged children and families across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Runo said: “I decided to take this on because I always like a challenge and making a difference. AberNecessities is a wonderful charity that helps underprivileged families in Aberdeen. They have helped over 4,000 children since the charity began in 2019.
“Raising the money for AberNeccessities means a lot, as it brings hope knowing that together we are helping those in need. It is a difficult time right now, for everyone, but if we come together as a community, we can make a difference. I hope that I can raise enough money and do my part for AberNeccessities.”
Mrs Ross, Teacher of RMPS and one of the leaders of the Charities Committee said: Robert Gordon's has always had charity giving as one of its core aims and Runo's selfless act shows how dedicated all our pupils are. We are very proud to be fundraising for AberNecessities and look forward to seeing Runo succeed.”
AberNecessities launched in March 2019 with the sole aim of supporting underprivileged families across North-east Scotland. The charity provides families with essential resources to enable them to care for their children, relieving families of stress and pressure.
