From Kilimanjaro to Celebrate Aberdeen: Ailie awarded Young Supporter of the Year

Ailie, one of our S3 pupils, has been recognised as Young Supporter of the Year after raising £12,000 for Charlie House.

Earlier this year, Ailie undertook the incredible challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro alongside her father, far exceeding their initial fundraising goal of £5,000.

On Saturday 1st November, she attended the Celebrate Aberdeen Awards dinner, hosted by Aberdeen Inspired, at the Chester Hotel with her parents, Katie Bremner from Charlie House, and Mrs Smith, Head of Senior School, where she was honoured to receive the award for her remarkable efforts.

Ailie said: “I’m so grateful to have received this award and it was fantastic to hear all the other nominees' inspiring stories! A huge thank you to Charlie house for being so supportive every step of the way.”

Katie Bremner, Community and Event Fundraiser, Charlie House, commented: “Celebrate Aberdeen Awards truly highlights the amazing work that is taking place in the community. Ailie being honoured as Young Supporter of the Year is an incredible demonstration not only to her dedication, kindness, and commitment, but also to the positive impact she has made at such a young age.

“Her achievement is a fantastic reminder that age is no barrier. Thank you Ailie for being a role model in inspiring and encouraging other young people to believe in themselves and the difference they can make.”

Mrs Smith, Head of Senior School, added: “It was a pleasure to be with Ailie and her family at the Celebrate Aberdeen Awards. I am delighted that her fundraising efforts have been recognised; everyone at RGC is very proud of her and pleased that the excellent work of Charlie House is being supported.”
