AMOPA Advanced Higher Speaking competition winners

Congratulations to Alex B (S6) who won 1st prize and Kirsty O (S6) who won 3rd prize for their presentations in French to the AMOPA Advanced Higher Speaking competition which were judged by the Association’s native speaking jury.

The Association des Membres de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques (AMOPA) in Scotland organises annually a competition for students of Advanced Higher French. The Ordre des Palmes Académiques was established by Napoleon in 1808. The Order recognises achievement in the cultural and educational sectors.

Alex and Kirsty were presented with certificates and prizes by Professor Philip Bennett, Emeritus Professor (Medieval French) of Edinburgh University and Rhona Bean, Honorary Secretary of the Aberdeen branch of the Franco-Scottish Society.
