Biotechnology company NovaBiotics Ltd join RGC Corporate Partner Programme

Supporting practical opportunities and experiential learning our Corporate Partner Programme welcomes its first biotechnology company, NovaBiotics Ltd.

Bridging the gap between professional science and science in the classroom, we are working with NovaBiotics Ltd to bring commercial research scientists into regular contact with senior school pupils.

Dr. Deborah O'Neil, Chief Executive Officer and Scientific Officer commented: "This new partnership with Robert Gordon's College is an excellent addition to the educational outreach offered by the NovaBiotics team. We aim to inspire young bioscience talent locally and nationally and began our partnership this year with a Researcher in Residence programme at RGC, placing two of our talented, successful commercial scientists who highlight a thriving and dynamic Life Sciences sector in Aberdeen.

“We are excited that the partnership is the beginning of a pipeline of opportunities for pupils that thrive to become STEM stars of the future and nurture this ethos to encourage them to play a role in the growth of the sector across the region."

Mrs Laura Presslie, Director of Development, Marketing and Admissions shared: “The partnership with Novabiotics provides a unique opportunity for pupils to be exposed to world class knowledge in bioscience careers. The technical expertise and enthusiasm offered through the Researchers in Residence programme has allowed pupils to work closely with scientists working on real-world research and commercialisation projects.

“Our Corporate Partner Programme is the first of its type in the UK schools sector and has been influenced by university industrial liaison programmes operating in the US. Our programme includes partners in transport and logistics, energy, digital and ICT, patent and trademark and chartered accountancy services who bring real life experience and mentoring to our classrooms.”
