CCF Update: December 2024

It has been a busy month for our combined cadet force as they wrapped up 2024 with two very important events.

Recruit Platoon Passing Out Parade

Over the past six weeks, new recruits have embraced a variety of challenging yet rewarding training sessions ranging from general military skills to specialised CCF techniques. Their dedication and effort were celebrated during the Passing Out Parade in the Quadrangle.

Having officially joined their chosen sections, Army or RAF, the cadets are now ready to embark on section-specific training in the New Year. This training will follow an exciting syllabus, preparing them for the highlight of the year, the annual summer camps in the first weeks of the summer holidays.

Walking Home for Christmas

This weekend, our incredible RGC Cadets and their families came together for a meaningful cause, participating in Walking Home for Christmas at Countesswells.

With festive cheer and a shared purpose, they embraced the spirit of the season while raising awareness, support and over £700.00 for this wonderful initiative.

Contingent Commander Sumner shared: “This year, Walking Home for Christmas focuses on 'Let's Talk' because mental health is an important but tough topic to start a conversation about. The aim of this event was to provide all RGC Cadets an opportunity to get involved in the Walking home for Christmas Challenge, help build an esprit de corps and to have fun while keeping fit but raising funds for charity.”
