Robert Gordon's College appoint Chief Operating Officer

We are pleased to share the news of the appointment of Kenny Gunnyeon as Chief Operating Officer from 22 April 2024. Kenny takes up his position as COO on 22 April, joining Robert Gordon’s from Aberdeenshire Council. This is a newly developed role within the College and will provide strategic leadership on core operational functions as part of the College Executive team to lead on capital projects and estates master planning contributing to the College’s goals for income generation, sustainability programmes and importantly health, safety and security.

Kenny holds a BSc (Hons) in Physiology and Sports Science from University of Glasgow and has over two decades of experience across the sport, leisure and education sectors having worked within the Senior Leadership Team at Meldrum Academy, Nuffield Health, Aberdeen Sports Village and earlier in his career with University of Aberdeen and University of Strathclyde.

Robin Macpherson, Head of College, shared: “We’re really excited to welcome Kenny to the RGC team. He brings a wealth of experience from his time in education, and in the sports industry. We have ambitious plans to expand our activities operationally, commercially, and in our public benefit. Kenny’s arrival gives us the experience and capacity to move things forward. We had a huge amount of interest in the COO role, with applications from across the UK from a wide range of sectors, and we went through a rigorous recruitment process. Kenny was the outstanding candidate and his arrival marks an exciting new chapter in RGC’s forward development.”

It’s a great time to be taking on this new and exciting role as we look to move our operational activities forward, and maximise the benefits of a fit for purpose College estate.
