Former pupil Murray Macfarlane, Class of '18, has secured an impressive one year placement with Red Bull Racing, working as a Performance Simulation Engineer at their headquarters in Milton Keynes.

After a series of assessments, Murray was selected from hundreds of candidates all over the world. However this was not the only placement he was offered. Murray shared: “It’s my dream job come true! I was lucky enough to also get an offer of a Controls Engineering Internship from Mercedes AMG F1, but after meeting both teams I decided that the Red Bull role is the one for me.”

Murray is currently studying a Masters degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde where he is currently the Technical Director of the university’s motorsport team.

Leaving RGC in 2018, Murray was also Drum Major with RGC Pipe Band.
