Former pupil Dexter shares songwriting tips with S5 musicians

Higher Music was delighted to work with Dexter Fawcett, Class of ‘17, who is well known throughout the community for his love of songwriting.

Mr Pearson, Assistant Head of Music shared: “Our pupils enjoyed working with Dexter as he shared tips on songwriting via Google Meet. He has continued to pursue his passion for music whilst studying Geology at Edinburgh University. Dexter has been active on the music scene, supporting Texas at the opening of the refurbished Music Hall and headlining Aberdeen’s New Year Street party with the band he formed with fellow Gordonians ‘The 101’.”

Dexter commented: “As a former pupil it was great to speak to the Higher Music class about songwriting and it was particularly encouraging that so many were interested and engaged in the topic. I hope they continue to pursue their interest in music within RGC and beyond.”
