Junior School pupils were excited to welcome AFC Ladies footballer, Francesca Ogilvie (Class of '19) to their Sport Relief Assembly last month.
Our Captains prepared short talks based on a sportsperson who inspires them. Looking to further inspire our pupils, we invited Former Pupil, Francesca Ogilvie, Class of ‘19, to talk to us about her career with AFC Ladies, representing Scotland and starting her own football coaching business. Her address was pitched perfectly for our young learners and she spoke of dedication, determination and always chasing your dreams. We know the pupils enjoyed her visit and felt inspired to dream big!
To mark Sport Relief in Junior School at RGC, we are again taking part in a Sport Swap. Girls will enjoy the chance to learn more about the game of Rugby whilst boys will be taking part in a Netball session. When this was announced, the cheers confirmed that the pupils are looking forward to the challenge. Mr Harper, Head of Sport, shared an important message with us, too, when he encouraged the pupils to see the Sport Swap not only as a privilege but as an opportunity to ‘be comfortable with being uncomfortable’. We have to operate outside our comfort zone to truly make progress and the JS Sport Swap will allow pupils this opportunity.
We continue to be extremely proud of all of our pupils for being attentive, enthusiastic and great ambassadors for our College. Our most sincere thanks go to Francesca Ogilvie for taking time out of her busy schedule to join us and to Mr Harper, Head of Sport for joining us too.
