Reverse Mentoring event at BAE Systems led by Fraser Cowie

Fraser Cowie, Class of '17, graduated from the University of Glasgow with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and is working as a Manufacturing Engineer at BAE Systems. Recently, he was involved in the organisation of BAE System's Reverse Mentoring programme which flips the traditional mentoring dynamic by pairing junior and senior-level employees while entrusting the junior employee to take on the role as mentor, leading the conversation and giving honest feedback. The scheme aims to break down the generational barriers and harness the diversity of thought present in modern workplaces and many companies have turned to Reverse Mentoring to address cultural shifts, such as diversity and inclusion, or even to spark conversations that help address organisational challenges and changes.

Fraser comments: "I'm delighted to have played a key role in organising such an important Mentoring scheme for BAE Systems. I've met some fantastic and inspirational people along the way, and I'm looking forward to helping grow the scheme and raise awareness over the coming year."
