Former pupil chosen as LGBT Business Champion by UK Government

Iain Anderson (Class of ‘86) has been appointed as LGBT Business Champion to work closely with the UK Government.

Acting as a bridge between the government and the LGBT community, Iain will focus on improving workplace equality at a small business level. With plans to create a buddy system between small businesses and larger companies, Iain hopes this dynamic will help smaller organisations and improve the working practices and environments for people in the LGBT community.

Iain said: “I am passionate about securing equality in the workplace and I’m delighted to take on this new role.

“It is important that both large and small businesses can unleash the potential of all their LGBT employees and customers… I definitely see my role as a link between the LGBT community, government and business and I want to build a bridge between the three parties.

"If businesses see me, and in turn government, putting in place tangible ways to allow LGBT people to be themselves, they'll understand that this is a priority area and do more about it.”
