News and Sports with Mike Fraser on his new weekly show on Bradenstoke Radio

Congratulations to former pupil and former Governor of RGC, Mike Fraser, Class of ‘71, who has recently started up his own weekly radio show at Bradenstoke Radio. Mike has worked on radio before as Rugby Correspondent for Dubai Radio where he had a regular Sunday evening slot. Mike says he is looking forward to chatting with listeners on his weekly show about what’s in the news sports-wise at the moment.

After working for the Clydesdale Bank in Aberdeen then London in the 70’s, Mike found his niche in HR in 1980 firstly in the oil and gas industry in Aberdeen. In the late 80’s he joined Thomson Regional Newspapers and enjoyed spells as HR Director at the P&J then at their publications in Belfast and Cardiff. In 1994 he joined German media giant Bertelsmann and in 2003 became their Group HR Director based in London. A return to the north east in 2006 took him to Aberlour on Speyside. He joined the Imes Group in Aberdeen in 2007 and became CEO the following year. Before retiring in 2018 he went back into HR for a 5 year spell as Group Head of HR for Peterson Energy Logistics. He now lives with his wife in Upper Seagry in the Cotswolds, close to their grandchildren and other family. He still enjoys the odd game of golf and still loves watching rugby being a member at Bath and following Scotland’s fortunes every year.

Mike’s love of music stretches back to the '70’s. He loves Pop, Rock, Country and Classical music and he aims to play something for just about everyone including some forgotten oldies from the '70’s and '80’s.
You can  join Mike for Sports and Music on a Tuesday from 7pm.
