MIT student shares expertise with Business Studies pupils

During her visit to the College, visiting MIT student Suki Zhang has been spending time with Business Studies and Economics pupils in our Senior School.

Sharing her expertise with classes, Suki has been aiding current teaching in marketing, product development and the practical application of economics. As part of her classes, pupils were split into groups focusing on a certain age group and asked to create a targeted marketing strategy to present to the class.

Mrs Smith, Head of Senior School believes it is important to help pupils understand how to address challenges, using their knowledge, skills and curiosity to find solutions that they feel passionate about.

She said: “We are delighted with the contribution Suki has made to classes and assemblies over the past few weeks. Pupils have benefited from hearing about her experiences and the passion she has for her field of study has been inspirational to many. I am certain that our RGC economists and entrepreneurs of the future will recognise the time they have spent with Suki as being transformational. The College partnership with MIT is one of the many ways we are able to widen horizons for our young people, instilling a belief that anything is possible. My thanks go to both Suki and Lilly for their enthusiasm, engagement and input; as honorary members of our community and they will be welcome back any time."

Suki shared: “It is amazing that the pupils at RGC have the opportunity to study Business studies so early on. Most of what they're learning is not something people get exposed to until university, so I'm glad I was able to come to RGC and help further the pupils' journey within the department. It's been an amazingly fun time bringing the lessons I got at MIT to the pupils; they were able to absorb the university-level materials with ease, so I'm hoping that they decide to advance on within these fields - they'll be amazing for sure!''
