Mr Owain Bristow

The Robert Gordon’s College community is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic climbing accident involving Mr Owain Bristow, Head of Biology, near Bullers of Buchan, Peterhead on Friday evening.

Mr Bristow was a highly respected teacher in his field of science throughout the UK. Outside school Mr Bristow was known across the region as an experienced climber, an accomplished runner and a volunteer with Aberdeen Young Walkers.

During his time at RGC Owain was an inspiration to many. Colleagues, pupils, families, former pupils, Governors and friends of the College are coming to terms with this devastating news and he will be greatly missed by us all.

Some members of the Gordonian community have dropped off flowers at the school gate this morning and whilst we are unable to accept visitors on site we are pleased to lay these in the Craig Centre along with those from pupils and staff.
