In celebration of Robert Burns Day, our Nursery children had a wonderful morning at The Touch of Tartan Ceilidh, where they performed some Scottish Country Dances that they had been learning during PE lessons. The children danced The Gay Gordon’s, a Virginia Reel and a Canadian Barn Dance. All the grown ups were very impressed at how well the children had learned the different steps and could interpret the music. Mrs Axten, Teacher of PE also organised an extra treat by having the bagpipes and drums play for us as well. We loved listening to them and grateful to Lucy S who danced in her full Scottish dance outfit. If the conversations on making our way back to Nursery were anything to go by, there are going to be a lot of future drummers, pipers and dancers to swell the ranks of our outstanding Pipe Band.
