Pupils celebrate friendship and Scottish Culture at Aberdeen Big Sing 2024

In collaboration with Aberdeen City Council, pupils from Robert Gordon’s College participated once again in the second annual Aberdeen Big Sing 2024.

Held at the Duthie Park, our Primary 4 children joined 3,000 pupils from schools across the city to perform in a collaborative mass choir, singing songs celebrating joy, friendships and Scotland.

Mrs Constable, Teacher of Music, shared: “This year’s Big Sing was even bigger than last year!  The primary 4 children met in the Duthie Park to sing six songs with all the primary 4 children in Aberdeen City, around 3000 children in total.

“They were accompanied by a live band which was made up of music instructors and senior pupils, including violinist Kimberley S (S6). The RGC Pipe Band played at the opening of the event and even joined in with singers for the Scottish Finale!

“Well done to everyone involved. This year’s theme was joy and friendship and looking at all the smiling faces the children had fun sharing music with others. Thank you to all the parents and family who supported us in the audience.”

Mrs Tulloch, Head of Junior School, said: “It was an absolute privilege to be part of The Big Sing at Duthie Park. Our community of schools was united through the power of music and song making it an unforgettable experience.”
