In the summer of 2020 a group of 33 Robert Gordon’s College pupils are travelling with Camps International on a four week charitable work expedition to Borneo.
They will be participating in a range of projects to help the local people and environment. From planting saplings in areas of deforestation to building and improving local amenities and working with local communities, this is a real opportunity to make a difference and be immersed in another culture.
The trip will not be without adventure and will include a 4-5 day trek through the jungle, sleeping in hammocks and rubbing shoulders with the local wildlife. This may be one of the only times in their lives when the daily commute will be by boat, as they travel down the Kinabatangan River.
Pupils will soon be hosting fundraising events to help support the charitable projects that they will undertake. If you see them selling their crafts or carrying out sponsored events, please do consider contributing.
