The Board of Governors are pleased to announce Mr Robin Macpherson, Assistant Rector of Dollar Academy as the new Head of College from 1st August 2020. Mr Macpherson will succeed Mr Simon Mills who will take up a new position as Headmaster of Haileybury Almaty in Kazakhstan. 

Mr Macpherson has held teaching and senior leadership roles in Scotland, the UK and overseas with experience of day and boarding schools, as well as having worked as an examiner for the Scottish Qualifications Authority, Edexcel and the International Baccalaureate Organisation.

Professor Hutchison, Chairman of Governors said: “We look forward to welcoming Mr Macpherson to the Gordon’s community and back to Aberdeenshire. He attended the Gordon Primary School in Huntly before moving to Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh. Mr Macpherson went on to study Modern History at Oxford University followed by a Masters in Scottish History at the University of Edinburgh. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a keen advocate and public speaker in international education.”
