S1 pupil selected for the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland

We are delighted to announce that following a rigorous audition process, Larry (S1) has been awarded a place in the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland.

This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to Larry’s hard work, dedication, and passion for piping. This opportunity will offer Larry exceptional opportunities for musical development within piping, including performing with the national ensembles, participating in the band's outreach programme, and contributing to ongoing projects.

Larry shared: “I feel very honoured to be admitted to the prestigious National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland. I am excited to be given the opportunity to be part of the national pipe band and hope I will further develop my understanding of pipe music by learning alongside other talented players from across Scotland.”

Contingent Commander Sumner said: “We are incredibly proud of Larry and all that he has achieved so far in his piping career. He now joins a proud tradition of RGC Pipe Band members who have earned places within the National Youth Pipe Band, helping to ensure our school continues to have a strong and enduring presence within this prestigious organisation.”
