We were delighted to welcome over 80 skiers from across Scotland for the Robert Gordon’s College School Ski Race Championships supported by UNIQ Snowsports.
Continuing from the success of the first event in 2023, Mrs MacLeod and Mrs Melville hosted the event at Aberdeen Snowsports Centre where pupils entered either individually or through their school.
Under 8 to Under 18 ski racers competed in an individual slalom as well as a dual slalom where teams were created to mix all the schools. A prize giving ceremony took place at the end of the afternoon with many pupils awarded medals, trophies and gift vouchers.
Mrs MacLeod, Deputy Head of Junior School, said: “What a brilliant, fun and memorable day we all had! Well done to the ski racers and congratulations to the podium winners! The standard of dry slope racing was exceptionally high. The dual slalom event, with racers from different schools in each team, was very exciting and it was great to see team members work together, support each other and make new friends.”
Mrs Melville, Assistant Head of PE, added: “The atmosphere was electric with friends and families cheering on all of the competitors! A special mention to UNIQ Snowsports for supporting both the Slalom and Dual Slalom competitions. We would like to thank UNIQ Snowsports, Ski Racing Supplies and Alpine Imports for their very generous prizes for the racers. We would also like to thank Aberdeen Snowsports Centre and all the parent volunteers!”
Ash Breese, Managing Director and Co-Founder shared: “What an amazing Friday afternoon it was at the Robert Gordon’s College School Ski Championships! We at UNIQ Snowsports were proud to support such a fantastic event. A massive thank you to John and his incredible support crew for making it all happen.”
Congratulations to all the racers who not only displayed impressive performances, but had a fantastic and memorable experience.
