Sport Update: w/c 28 January 2019

On Tuesday our S2 netball team travelled to James Gillespie’s High School in Edinburgh to play in their 3rd Round Scottish Cup match. Although the girls were disappointed to lose, their coach Miss Ellis was encouraged to see them displaying the signs of knowing how to play as a team and for each other. With a few more friendly matches to play before the season ends, we should have another Junior team ready for the League next season.

The S3 Junior netball team played a tough match against Ellon Academy on Thursday, with Ellon eventual winners on the day.

Miss Ellis and Miss Stephen were grateful to Donnie and the ground staff at Countesswells for clearing the car park of snow for them early on Saturday morning so they could take a team of S3 and S4 girls to Dollar Academy. This was Dollar’s first ever netball match and our girls certainly made it a very enjoyable experience for all. They took charge of team selection and set personal development targets that encouraged a fair and competitive match. The coaches were very proud of the girls’ conduct, respect and friendliness.

Rugby and Hockey

Unfortunately all our rugby and hockey fixtures were cancelled this week due to the freezing temperatures.

Team of the Week: S3/S4 netball for their success and conduct against Dollar Academy at the weekend.
