International News

It was been a busy week for some of our pupils away from school as they earned their Scotland caps in rugby and hockey. S6 pupil Gregor B was part of the U18 Scotland Rugby Team in Wales for the 6 Nations Festival. Scotland narrowly lost 19-18 against Italy and 28-17 against Wales but then came back in a thrilling final match against Ireland, winning 42-40 with the final kick on the match. In girls hockey, Eilidh S (S4) and Ailsa P (S3) represented Scotland in the U16 team in Cardiff with a series of matches against Wales. They had a fantastic opening game winning 6-2 followed by a 2-1 win and a 1-1 draw in the final match, winning the Scotland U16 girls series overall. In boys hockey, former RGC pupil Sam Hill was selected as part of the U18 squad against Wales. Scotland drew their first two matches then finished the weekend with a fantastic 8-1 win, making the U18 boys series winners also. We are very proud of our international players who are juggling these important commitments along with studying for their SQA and S3 exams.
