Sport Update Week Commencing 6 May 2019

Cricket

Thankfully the weather held on Saturday and our pupils were able to enjoy an excellent morning of cricket at Countesswells and away in Dundee. We welcomed the High School of Dundee and George Watson’s College to Countesswells where there were over 100 pupils out on the field in their various matches. Our P6 and P7 teams travelled to the High School of Dundee. Overall RGC secured 4 wins, 3 losses and a draw with Mr Horne commenting that it was a very positive day of cricket for all our pupils with some excellent wins.

Unfortunately the matches against Albyn School scheduled for last Wednesday were cancelled due to the weather.

Swimming

On Friday we held our annual Junior School Fun Galas for P3-P7 in the pool. This is a highlight in the Junior School calendar and it is probably safe to say, also one of the noisiest events in the calendar! There was plenty of support and encouragement from the visiting parents and friends who were cheering on from the poolside. This year for the first time it was a House Event rather than a class event, and the overall winner was Straloch.
