Winning YPI pitch raises £3000 for Touch of Love charity

S4 pupils took part in the annual Youth Philanthropy Initiative Scotland (YPI) as part of Senior School projects week. Twenty nine groups set out on Monday to choose charities and create 10 minute pitches to be presented at the end of the week to a panel of judges aiming to win the £3000 grant for their chosen charity.

On Friday, six finalist groups presented to a judging panel consisting of former pupil and successful Scottish businessman Sir Ian Wood, former teacher and Head of Senior School Mike Elder, former pupil and entrepreneur Molly Heath and Development Committee member Graham Gordon, CEO of IFB.

The winning group, consisting of Jenna, Brodie, Jai, Hamish, Georgina and Kristina represented Touch of Love. Touch of Love Outreach is a charitable organisation in Aberdeen, helping to support families and supply them with regular food packages. They successfully demonstrated their charity using a successful PowerPoint presentation and impactful videos and interviews.

Congratulations to the winning group and we hope that the £3000 will help to support Touch of Love and make a positive impact within our community.
