Entries for this year's Virtual Cross Country open Monday 8 February

The College’s annual Cross Country Championships is continuing tradition and will take place this year in a new digital format.

All pupils from the Junior and Senior schools are encouraged to take part in year group events and compete against each other to gain house points. As part of the new virtual format, this year’s championships includes events for parents, staff and alumni to enter.

Each championship event will have two races for participants to choose from; the Silver Virtual XC and the Gold Virtual XC. The Silver Virtual XC sets entrants the challenge to cover as much distance in a set time and the Gold Virtual XC asks those more comfortable with running to complete a set distance in the quickest time.

Participants can track their run or walk using various tracking apps and are asked to share a screenshot of their tracked activity using this entry form when entries open from Monday 8 to Sunday 21 February.

Mr Harper, Head of Sport said: “The focus of this event is to have fun while exercising and give everyone the chance to challenge themselves no matter what their running ability.

“The move of our Cross Country Championships to a virtual platform once again illustrates the resilience of the Gordon’s community and we can’t wait to see the competition start between pupils, parents, staff and alumni when entries open next week.”
