Across the College, our Nursery, Junior and Senior pupils have brought the quad to life again with the sound of happy and excited children ready for the start of the 2023-24 session.
Nursery settling in sessions are progressing well with our new and returning children spending lots of time with their new key workers, ensuring that our youngest learners feel happy, secure and confident in their new learning environment. With a warm welcome from our returning Nursery children, they are enjoying making new friends and playing with their peers as they become more familiar with their new surroundings and exciting learning journey ahead.
Primary 1 excitedly walked up the MacRobert Hall steps and led their proud families to their classroom. There were lots of cheers from the Nursery team and children who proudly watched last year’s pre-school children jump into school life. Handing over a little care package to their families, our new P1s quickly reassured them that they are ready for their first day of school. Meanwhile, Primary 2 - 7 were excited to catch up with friends and welcome new pupils into the community.
The start of the new school year certainly brings new and exciting opportunities for all our pupils. S1 continued their transition programme, which started before the Summer break, with some orienteering and team building activities providing more opportunities for them to connect with their peers and develop new and existing friendships. S2-S5 are taking those next steps on their senior education as they progress towards and through their certificated courses. S6 embarked on their final year at school, an emotional thought for many.
Whether you are taking your first steps into Nursery, or starting your final year in school education, we encourage you all to be brave, be adventurous and make the most of all the new experiences here at Robert Gordon’s College.
