In a heartwarming new video released this week by Scottish Athletics, former pupil Angela McAuslan-Kelly, Class of 2023, opens up about her journey to an Ivy League scholarship at Princeton University, New Jersey, sharing valuable insights on resilience and community.

Angela is majoring in Politics, with a minor in German, whilst also combining this with her athletics training with the Princeton Tigers. Grateful for the opportunities provided by Robert Gordon’s and for her teachers, Angela said: “At the start of March 2022, I had a chat with Miss Howie about the possibility of studying in the US and combining this with my athletics training. Before that, I had never even considered the possibility.
“My Higher subject teachers went to incredible lengths to help me, and without them the five Band 1 As would have certainly not have happened. It really took a whole village of people to get this right.”
Never giving up is a running theme throughout Angela’s school career, consistently working hard at the highest level. Angela attended St Joseph's Primary School before joining Robert Gordon’s College in S1 on a fully funded bursary.
