A total of 136 pupils working towards their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award recently completed exciting practice expeditions, navigating the stunning Aberdeenshire landscape.

Working alongside outdoor provider Hillgoers and under uncharacteristically sunny skies, the groups embarked on their two day, one night residential adventure around Knockburn and Potarch, having planned their own routes and participating in some group cooking. The outing allowed pupils to take the necessary steps towards gaining their Bronze Award alongside a National Navigation Award (NNAS).

Mrs McAvinue, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Manager, shared: “We are incredibly proud of all 136 pupils who participated in this practice expedition. Their enthusiasm, resilience, and teamwork were truly commendable. The sunny weather was an added bonus, allowing them to fully appreciate the stunning environment they were exploring.”

The practice expedition provided an invaluable opportunity for our pupils to put their training into action ahead of their qualifier expedition in June.
