The Charities Committee is pleased to announce that although the fundraising events are currently on hold due to COVID-19, they have raised over £3000 this year for Befriend a Child and Aberdeen Cyrenians. 

Mrs Ross shared: "We are delighted with the support once again from the school community. These two charities will receive an equal share of the total raised this school session.

"There is another exciting opportunity to raise money for Befriend a Child while we are in lockdown. The charity is running a virtual challenge called 5K a day for the month of May through their Facebook page. For a £5 donation you are asked to complete 5K a day in whichever way you fancy, running skipping, silly walks etc. The Facebook page has tips, workout videos and live demos to help support you in this challenge. To take part or find out more, follow the Facebook page and share your challenge photos with Mrs Wood or I."

Befriend a Child supports school-aged children who are growing up in and around Aberdeen in troubled and disadvantaged circumstances.  Aberdeen Cyrenians is dedicated to supporting people affected by homelessness, violence, domestic abuse and other forms of social exclusion.
