Members of the Robert Gordon’s College community are supporting an exciting new musical initiative in Aberdeen.

The National Bagpiping Centre Community Bagpiping Club, held in Great Western Community Hall, aims to give children aged 7-17 the opportunity to build confidence through music. Welcoming complete beginners as well as intermediate and advanced pipers in the local community, the club provides a welcoming and inclusive space where young people can develop their skills and enjoy music together.

The sessions are being delivered by Youth and Communities Tutors and RGC staff members Mr Sumner and Ms Charlton, with additional support and encouragement from members of the RGC Pipe Band.

Mr Sumner, Head of RGC Pipe Band, shared: “Following similar National Piping Centre initiatives at locations across Glasgow (Ibrox, Castlemilk and Pollokshields) and Edinburgh (Leith), we are delighted to be part of a project that makes bagpiping tuition more accessible across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.”

Sessions take place every Wednesday at 4.30pm. To find out more and register your place, please visit https://airtable.com/appiU2RN5F6MwfJ0z/paggeSQQBrfwLHJNe/fo.
