As the music charts fill with the latest summer anthems to act as the soundtrack to the hotter months, a Robert Gordon’s College pupil has produced a track to add to the mix.

Hugo in S6 has been producing music for over four years in his free time, his piece ‘Let Go’ is just one of many in his extensive portfolio. In his track Hugo used vocal sample which he mixed and remastered using his editing software to create the end result.

When asked what inspired the piece, Hugo said: “I drew inspiration from similar top chart records such as 'Head & Heart' by Joel Corry and other tracks by artists including Sonny Fodera and Loud Luxury.

“I am looking forward to university and then hopefully make a start to a career in music production or audio engineering.”

Mr Pearson, Assistant Head of Music added: “This is an excellent track. Hugo is very creative and shows so much musical ability. It has been a pleasure to teach him in Music and will be interesting to watch how his musical career develops.”

If this track is anything to go by, it won’t be too long until Hugo’s music will be seen topping the charts. You can listen to ‘Let Go’ below.

Could Hugo’s ‘Let Go’ track be the next anthem of summer?
