Robert Gordon's College has received The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award.

The ERS awards Bronze, Silver and Gold recognition to organisations that demonstrate support and employment for service personnel members of the armed forces community, including veterans and Cadet Force adult volunteers.

Major Ray Watt, Regional Employment Engagement Director, Highland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, visited the College on Tuesday 1 February to present Wg Cdr Daniel Montgomery with the award.

Head of College, Mr Macpherson said: "We were very proud to be presented with the Silver Award in 2017, and the continuation of this in 2022 shows our ongoing commitment to the armed forces community. We absolutely believe in treating members of the services, past and present, with fairness and respect and will continue to maintain these high standards at Robert Gordon's College."

The Silver Award is a re-award, with the first award made in November 2017. Wg Cdr Montgomery was presented with the certificate by the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff at a dinner and awards ceremony in the Great Hall of Edinburgh Castle which was covered in Issue 23 of the Pelican Magazine.
