Following in the footsteps of his father, uncles and brothers (Angus, Class of 2020 and Alexander, 2022), Archie L from the Class of 2024 is heading to Strathclyde University to study Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering.
Throughout his time at Robert Gordon’s College, Archie was heavily involved in the Pipe Band, participated in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme and in his final year at school, was selected as one of the Gordonian Association Student Leaders.
Archie explained: “Being the Gordonian Association Student Leader over the past year has been an amazing experience for me and I enjoyed acting as the link between the school and the Gordonian Association. Attending Gordonian Association dinners in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and London were certainly highlights of my time at the College.”
Archie also volunteered at his local Cub Scouts group and has attended Explorer Scouts for several years. He said: “Over the past year I think balancing all my studies with my vast amount of extra-curricular activities has definitely been a challenge.”
When asked about what he enjoyed most about his school career, Archie summarised: “I have really enjoyed being a part of the school community across my time at the College. Over the last two years I enjoyed many amazing trips with the school to some really fantastic places, such as Austria, Italy and Malta. I have especially enjoyed being a member of the Pipe Band and representing the school across Scotland as well as travelling to New York to take part in the famous Tartan Week 2024.”
