Founder’s Week was made even more memorable this year as the RGC community warmly welcomed our German exchange partners and colleagues from Gymnasium Langen.
Our S4 pupils were thrilled to reciprocate the kindness and hospitality they experienced during their visit to Germany earlier in May. The return leg of the exchange offered a full and varied programme, giving pupils the opportunity to share Scottish culture and traditions with their guests while further strengthening international friendships.
The week’s activities included discovering the sights of Aberdeen, paddle boarding adventures, and a visit to the historic Crathes Castle. Pupils also enjoyed time in lessons together, as well as the chance to experience our Founder’s Day celebrations
Mrs Eadon, Teacher of Modern Languages shared: “You will only ever regret not taking part in an exchange! Participation in our S3 German Exchange is a must! Not only does it improve your German language and knowledge of German culture, but lifelong friendships are formed. S3, sign up for next year's exchange now!”
Mr Campbell, Head of Languages said: It has been fantastic to see our partnership with Gymnasium Langen continue with this group of pupils. Exchanges like this embody everything we value in language learning; communication, cultural understanding and friendship. Through these shared experiences, pupils bring their language learning to life, developing confidence, empathy, and an enduring appreciation of different perspectives. These are lessons that reach far beyond the classroom and we strongly encourage pupils to seize these opportunities whenever they arise.”
