Our talented musicians recently embarked on an unforgettable journey through Italy, filled with stunning performances at beautiful locations.
At the beginning of the week the pupils had the chance to explore the charming historic town of Mantua and visited the stunning Basilica di Sant'Andrea and the magnificent Scientific Bibiena Theater.
Their first performance took place in the picturesque village of Ceresara, where they were greeted by a warm and enthusiastic audience. After leaving Ceresara, the pupils travelled to Verona, and the stunning Arena di Verona for their next performance. With the prospect of rain and lightning, the outdoor concert was moved indoors to Teatro Parrocchiale and attended a fantastic reception afterward.
At the end of the week, they continued their adventures in the picturesque town of Desenzano for some sightseeing, delicious food and shopping. The outing was followed by a concert in Polpenazze del Garda, overlooking the lake. The group enjoyed a thrill seeking day at Gardaland, Italy’s largest theme park which was followed by a concert at Villa Mirra in Cavriana. The call of the pipes attracted a large and supportive crowd for their final concert on the tour itinerary.
Mr Boyd, Brass Instructor shared: “The students and staff have had the most amazing experience this week. Our Italian hosts have looked after us and made the tour so special. Memories and friendships have been made, and talk of the RGC 2026 Music Tour has already started!”
The 2024 tour was not only a cultural and educational experience but also an opportunity for our young musicians to showcase their talents on an international stage.
