As the summer holidays approached, our Junior School pupils embraced every last moment of term, participating in a range of activities and joyful celebrations.

P1-P3 Shorts and Shades
Primary 1 to Primary 3 pupils stepped into summer in style with their Shorts and Shades Party. Working together in their House teams, pupils participated in a series of fun general knowledge quizzes, solving clues to discover hidden puzzle pieces scattered across the campus.

With teamwork, curiosity, and lots of laughter, they pieced it all together to reveal a well-earned surprise from the Robert Gordon’s College Parents’ Association - a visit from Little Miss Whippy! There were cheers all round as both pupils and staff enjoyed a delicious ice cream in the sunshine.

P6-P7 House Summer Disco
Our Primary 6 and Primary 7 pupils rounded off their summer term in style at the House Summer Disco! The pupils were delighted to welcome back former pupil DJ Alex, who kept the energy high all evening spinning the tunes and igniting the dancefloor. Glow sticks lit up the room, the tuck shop was a hit, and both pupils and staff danced the night away in true RGC spirit.

Even the House Bears joined in the fun, although - they have now safely been returned to Mrs Rose’s cabinet for a well-earned rest before pupils return in August.

Junior School Celebration
The Robert Gordon’s College Junior School Celebration Event was a joyful and vibrant occasion that reflected the enthusiasm and talents of its pupils. Mr Kevin Reynard, Chair of Governors, warmly welcomed attendees before the Junior Band set the tone with a lively performance of Funkytown. All pupils joined together in song with It’s Time to Celebrate, capturing the spirit of the event. Mrs Tulloch, Head of the Junior School, gave a heartfelt overview of the year, followed by year group highlights and spectacular musical medleys.

P3 shared their memories with Charlotte and Andrew before the year group performed Wicked to Oz. P2’s Anna, Genevieve and Alexander introduced their highlights, followed by an Aladdin/The Lion King group medley, while P1 shared a touching highlights video and sang selections from Annie/Oliver. Nursery delighted the audience with a video and a charming Mary Poppins medley. Highlights from each year group were shared by Oli, Lucas and Rana (P4), Eden, Ava and Samuel (P5), Helena, Aanya and Gabriel (P6) and Oliver, Andrea, and Danny (P7) ahead of impressive performances from P4 to P7. These showcased the pupils’ talents through themed musical medleys, including Matilda, West Side Story, Evita, La La Land, and a show-stopping Broadway Megamix. Prizes were awarded throughout, recognising pupil achievements. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Emily, a moving rendition of I Vow to Thee My Country, and a proud piping out of the platform party by Leo.

Mrs Tulloch, Head of Junior School, said: “There is always great excitement and buzz in the Music Hall for our end of term service, and today was no exception. We don't slow down at RGC, we build in a real crescendo towards the end of term. We leave no stone unturned when it comes to learning and opportunities so we certainly had a considerable amount to celebrate. It was a fantastic afternoon and the whole College community should feel rightly proud of how we punctuated another remarkable year.”

RGC’s Got Talent!
Some of our Primary 7 pupils showcased their incredible skills in RGC’s Got Talent! After some intense heats, nine finalists took to the stage to perform for their younger peers, proudly representing their houses Blackfriars, Collyhill, Sillerton and Straloch.

From singing and music to acrobatics and magic, each finalist performed their hearts out. The show ended on a high as all Primary 7 pupils joined finalist Aled for one last performance together as a cohort.

Well done to everyone who participated and shared their talents so confidently.
