Scottish Canoeing Association Regional Officer Lyle Smith today presented three RGC pupils with the British Canoeing White Water Award.  Irwin C, Jack M and Daniel S (S4) have all developed their paddling skills through membership of the College’s Kayak Club.  Earlier this term they were assessed on the River Don for their ability to handle a kayak effectively in white water, to assist in a rescue and for their understanding of kit, access issues and river conditions.

In addition, Hector D and Kory B (S3) and Innes C and Matthew M (S2) also received the BC Paddle Explore Award.  All four confidently demonstrated the skills required at this level and are well on the way to achieving their White Water Award.

Kayak Club continues to run on a Monday afternoon in the pool with further outdoor trips planned for the spring term.
