The Lindsay Ellington Memorial Art Prizegiving evening took place in the Foyer of the Craig Centre for Performing Arts on 22nd May, showcasing the creative talent of young artists from P7 and S3.

There were a total of 20 finalists, with 9 from P7 and 11 from S3, selected from a large pool of entries. The winners and runners-up for each category were as follows:

  • P7 Winner: Nina R

  • P7 Runner-up: Isabella A

  • S3 Winner: Kiran B

  • S3 Runner-up: Willow H

The prizes were presented in memory of the late Mrs Lindsay Ellington, wife of former RGC pupil Professor Henry Ellington (Class of ‘59). This event has become an annual tradition, supported by the generosity of the Ellington Family.

Ken Ellington shared: “As a family, we are delighted to be working with the team at Robert Gordon’s College on the Lindsay Ellington Art Memorial Prize, celebrating Mum’s life through the celebration of art. The paintings completed by the Primary 7 and S3 year groups were superb, and it was fantastic to see so much positivity and enthusiasm from such talented pupils for the award. This event is now set up as a long running partnership.”

Robin Macpherson, Head of College, added: “We’re so grateful for the support from the Ellington family and the event was a great success. The standard of entries was once again superb and this competition has become firmly established. I’m so proud of all the pupils and to be able to have such a strong focus on art in both the Junior and Senior Schools is wonderful.”
