We were delighted to be joined virtually by Lord Lieutenant for the City of Aberdeen, Barney Crockett along with several Deputy Lieutenants, family members and staff on Tuesday 3rd November to acknowledge the appointment of School Captain and CCF Army Section Sgt Angus J as Lord Lieutenant's Cadet.
Wg Cdr Montgomery comments: "The normal reception and presentation we have enjoyed in past years were not possible but we are extremely grateful to the Lord Lieutenant and his staff for setting up and conducting this event. Angus is viewed as a young man with high personal standards and exceptional enthusiasm. He commands the respect of his peers and is admired for his qualities, abilities and enthusiasm. He has been a key figure in our CCF team participating in the Military Skills Competition at national level. He is a confident and very capable instructor in a range of fields. It is his hope to study Accounting at university and then to enter the Police, with a particular interest in Armed Response or Anti-Terrorism duties. A keen rugby player, he has been fully committed to the sport throughout his time with us. He has completed Silver level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and is now working towards Gold. He also completed the DofE Diamond Challenge, covering the equivalent of the English Channel on a rowing machine. He holds the Chief Scout Gold Award and is working towards Platinum."
It is hoped that, when circumstances allow, Angus will accompany the Lord Provost to a number of official events in the City during the year-long term of the appointment when Mr Crockett attends in the role of Lord Lieutenant.
