A new chapter for expressive arts education is underway where Mrs Charlton is working on a national project to introduce a new film and screen curriculum.

Working with forty teachers from Scottish Schools, she participated in a Summer School at Forth Valley College to take those next steps in establishing Scotland’s first FIlm and Screen Curriculum.

Mrs Charlton, Principal Teacher of Art and Design, shared: “The Summer School was great fun, intense and a really invaluable opportunity to enhance technical skills. There were also fantastic networking opportunities in industry through visits with an animation studio, film and tv producers, BAFTA and Into Film promoting training and career options within Scotland’s ‘growth sector’ of the Creative Industries.

“This innovative curriculum will provide pupils with the skills and knowledge to excel in Scotland’s rapidly growing Creative Industries sector, offering pathways to careers in film, TV production, and animation.

“We have had an exciting start to the school session, trialing this with our Primary 7 year group. Watch this space for more exciting developments in Creative Arts!”
