In March, Robert Gordon’s College girls’ hockey teams enjoyed a remarkable achievement, winning 3 out of 4 North District tournaments.  The S1, S3 and senior teams each secured first place in their respective age groups, showcasing exceptional skill and teamwork throughout.

S1 - Mrs Roberts 
“The S1 squad have had an excellent season transitioning from 8 aside to 11 a side games. The strength in depth is fantastic with over 25 girls representing the College this season. The North District Tournament win was the icing on the cake after a hugely successful season with some memorable performances. The commitment, work ethic and energy that the S1 team have brought to each session has been fantastic. The future looks bright.
 

S2 - Mr Scorgie
The S2 girls team finished the season with a comprehensive win in the S2 Tournament. It was a fitting end to a season in which they only lost to one team who in fact were a whole age group older. The team were prolific in attack averaging over 6 goals per game. This team now has to take a leap forward hopefully fulfilling their potential in the near future. They have been a joy to work with.

Seniors - Mr Harper
The North District Senior Tournament is always a competition that comes with a certain amount of pressure; our 1st XI are always the team to beat! The girls coped well with that and worked hard as a squad to keep a high level of hockey throughout the day. To be able to field two squads, both 1st and 2nd XI, is always a proud moment, it shows the level of depth we have within our girl's hockey here at the school. All the girls played with so much pride, and that came out in all their performances.

Mr McLeod, Director of Sport, added:  “It has been another successful season for our girls’ hockey teams. As a department, we have placed a huge amount of focus on creating an engaging learning environment. When we focus on our process, our success naturally follows. I am very proud of all our amazing staff and pupils.

“Congratulations to all players who participated in the North District Tournaments this year! The tournaments have been a great way to end the season for S1, S2 and Senior players, giving them the opportunity to showcase their hard work and skills they have learned throughout the season. We can't wait to see what the future holds for RGC Hockey and to watch these players develop and thrive in years to come!”
