Robert Gordon’s College is delighted to be participating in and supporting Nuart Aberdeen 2023. 

The side of our Blackfriars building has been transformed by Spanish artist Manolo Mesa who has created an incredibly intricate and colourful mural.

The mural focuses on local history, taking Seaton pottery as its theme. One of our archivists, Mr Tom Cumming, kindly provided further research material on Gordonian ceramic artist and bursary recipient Gordon Mitchell Forsyth, Class of 1895. 

Our S4 National 5 classes have been observing Manolo and his processes, commenting on how seeing the artwork progress has enhanced their own experience and understanding of the skill sets involved in creating a piece of art on such a large scale. Whilst also observing Manolo’s work, the pupils have loved touring previous years NUART artworks around the city centre.
