In Nursery, with the help of our Mandarin teacher Mrs Adam and her colleagues from Aberdeen University, we had great fun celebrating Chinese New Year. We learned to do a traditional fan dance and thoroughly enjoyed using the beautiful, delicate fans. The children made a wonderful attempt to carry out all the different moves. As it’s the year of the “rat,” the children enjoyed meeting a life size rat who was dressed in traditional Chinese clothing. We are very grateful to Mrs Adams for affording the children the opportunity to learn about the traditions and customs of China.
For story time, some of the girls and boys of Nursery enjoyed visiting the Central Library. We were amazed at all the different books we found there, but mostly we really enjoyed it when Sarah the librarian read us stories and sang some Nursery Rhymes with us. Thank you, Sarah, and the Central Library. We can’t wait to come back.
