The weather may have been dull, but the Nursery children shone at their annual Sports Day.
Peli The Pelican led a pre-event warm up and had the pupils buzzing with excitement and ready to compete before participating in a variety of fun activities at Countesswells Sports Fields. They showed incredible spirit, energy and teamwork as they embarked on a host of activities including potted sports, running and sack races and the ever popular space hopper challenge. Laughter and cheers filled the air as families were then invited to participate in an adult race.
Mrs Melville, Interim Assistant Head of PE, shared: “On your marks get set go! Our Nursery children had fun playing, competing and performing skills in our themed Teddy Bear Olympic Sports Day this year. Every child took part in stimulating physical activities on the track and in the field where effort, enjoyment, participation and progress were fully celebrated.”
Mrs Kinsey, Nursery Teacher, added: “Our Nursery children did an amazing job at their annual Sports Day held at Countesswells. Each child was involved in a variety of enjoyable and challenging activities where they showcased their developing PE skills such as jumping, running, throwing and catching, all while having to take turns. The children enjoyed their fun-filled and happy day, gaining many stickers for trying their best. We were thrilled to see so many family members and friends turn up to support us. We can’t wait for next year.”
